This article focuses on Acini Driving School courses and fee structure. Acini Driving School is a low-cost driving school started by Acini Capital, a Norwegian Impact Investment Company to equip Kenyan youth with skills and a path to employment.
It started on a meeting with a group of women in Elgeyo Marakwet with requests that Acini support women who wanted to acquire driving skills but could not afford the huge amounts demanded by commercial schools. The women also wanted something they could access easily without necessarily having to travel long distances to get the training.
Acini Driving School was officially incorporated and given the license to operate by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in March 2019. At the moment, Acini is the fastest-growing driving school in Kenya and one of the best in Eldoret, with teachers who are experienced driving instructors with a long history of teaching. All trainers have annual training in international driving curriculums.
The school offers money back guarantee if one attends all the compulsory classes and fails to pass the exams. It has however registered a 99.99% success rate since establishment and issued over 1500 drivers licenses per year.
Apart from the normal driving courses, Acini Driving School offers extra safety and night driving class, an extra class where the main focus is on safety precautions, how to avoid dangerous situations, how to be a better driver at night and how to be a better pedestrian if you walk along the road (day and night).
