This article focuses on Airports Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. Airports Sacco is a savings and credit cooperative society that was formed on 25th March 1994, with the purpose of deepening its financial service delivery to its members.
The Sacco was officially registered on 11th November 1994 and had a share capital of over Kshs 240,000. It also joined the membership of Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO) the same year with 100 shares worth Kshs 10,000.
Airports Sacco Membership Eligibility
The Sacco draws its membership from the following;
- Employees of Kenya Airports Authority.
- Other individuals and organisations working within and around the country’s airports.
Airports Sacco Membership Requirements
- An applicant shall be admitted to membership upon payment of an entrance fee of Kshs 2,500 and a minimum of 250 shares of Kshs 20 each or an amount as shall be fixed by the general meeting from time to time.
- Upon admission, the member’s name shall be entered in the membership register and a membership number issued.
- The member shall sign or make a thumb mark in the register of members in the presence of two members of the board, to indicate his/her acceptance of the by-laws of the society.
- Members shall be admitted by the management board subject to confirmation by the next general meeting.
- The member shall pay for a copy of the society’s by-laws and its actual cost in the society.
Rights of Members
- Attend and participate in decision making at all general meetings of the society and vote.
- Be elected to organs of the society, subject to these by-laws.
- Enjoy the use of all the facilities and services of the society subject to the society’s by-laws.
- All legitimate information relating to the society including internal regulations, registers, minutes of general meetings and supervisory committees reports, annual accounts, inventories and investigation reports at the society’s registered offices.
