Bolt Vehicle Requirements In Kenya

Bolt, formerly Taxify, is one of the largest and cheapest taxi-hailing apps in Kenya. The cab company has seen massive growth since its launch in July 2016. It currently operates across major towns in Kenya; Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kakamega, and Thika. To be accepted to Bolt, one must meet the following vehicle requirements.

Vehicle Requirements for Bolt Lite: Available in Nairobi

1. The vehicle must be a 2009 or newer model.

2. The vehicle must seat four passengers.

3. The vehicle must be a Hatchback.

4. The vehicle must have an engine capacity of between 650cc and 1000cc.

5. The vehicle must be in good cosmetic condition.

Vehicle Requirements for Bolt Base 

Mombasa: The vehicle must be a 2007 or newer model.

Kisumu & Kakamega and Mount Kenya: The vehicle must be 2008 or newer.

Nairobi: The vehicle must be a 2009 or newer model.

The vehicle must seat four passengers.

The vehicle must be a Hatchback, Sedan or Station Wagon.

The vehicle must have an engine capacity of between 1300cc and 1500cc.

The vehicle must be in good cosmetic condition.

Vehicle Requirements for Bolt Plus: Available in Nairobi

To qualify for Bolt Plus, the driver must have completed  100+ lifetime trips, have a 4.8 rating and a vehicle that meets the following requirements.

1. The vehicle must be a 2009 or newer model.

2. The vehicle must seat four passengers.

3. The vehicle must be a specious Sedan or Station Wagon.

4. The vehicle must have an engine capacity of 1500cc or more.

5. The vehicle must be in good cosmetic condition.

Vehicle Requirements for Bolt XL: Available in Kisumu, Kakamega and Nairobi.

1. The vehicle must be a 2008 or newer model.

2. The vehicle must seat six passengers.

3. The vehicle must be in good cosmetic condition.

4. The vehicle must have an engine capacity of between 1800cc and 2000cc
