Dogs come in many breeds, some have more energy, while others are very laid back or lazy. Sometimes it can be genetic heredity while other times it can be certain circumstances that make them that way. As canines age, or get an injury, it can be hard to see them sitting around all day and not being able to do the things dogs are meant to do – run around playing and enjoying themselves.
This is why there are a few things that pet owners can do to help them regain their energy, and we will be looking at one particular natural solution below – CBD.
Breeds that tend to Have Low-Energy
Bulldogs
These breeds have been around for the longest time and were originally bred for butchers, as aggressive dogs. As time went on, their demeanor changes and they are amongst the laziest low-energy dogs in the world.
There are three common types of bulldogs, the French, American and English versions. The difference between their appearances puts them into these categories. For instance, the American Bulldogs, are muscular dogs, and their heads are larger and more of a square shape with a large jaw. Click here to see what they look like. They can grow up to 28 inches tall and weigh over 100 pounds.
The English versions are small to medium-sized canines and have wrinkled faces and droopy jaws that look like an upside-down smile. Their wide-set shoulders and broad chest distinguish them from the other types. Both the males and females can get up to over 50 pounds.
The French bulldog is a very obvious looking dog, by this we mean they are nothing like the American or English and are smaller, with a much cuter face. They have ears like a bat and only get up to 28 pounds at most in weight. They are the easiest to keep as pets in terms of their grooming and cleaning.
Great Dane
These giants’ dogs are some of the gentlest breeds around. Albeit clumsy they are joyful dogs and great companions for children. Due to some of the common health issues they are genetically predisposed to, they can lack energy and one great solution to give these dogs is dog CBD oil which can help bring back some life into them.
They can suffer from Gastric Torsion, Tricuspid Valve Disease, Cardiomyopathy, Hip Dysplasia and more, which can also hinder their life spans, which typically they can live to be 10 years of age:https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/great-dane-life-span/
Italian Grey Hound
These dogs also go by the name “Iggy” and can stand up to 15 inches tall in most cases. The Italian Greyhound in particular is the smallest of them all. They are small and fast but sometimes they too can get affected by various health problems take to make them unfit for running around and being their playful selves. These are one of the most fragile canines around and they have very thin and bony legs and slender bodies. When they are around young children, they should be handled with care.
One of the most common problems they face is their front legs can easily break because they are so fragile. Hence, they must be handled carefully at all times and not picked up too frequently. They can also suffer from other issues such as slipped stifle or dislocation of their knees, epilepsy, progressive retinal atrophy and fractures in their bones.
Pharaoh Hound
The Egyptian or Pharaoh Hound, are a friendly and smart dog breed. Even though they are meant to be powerful and graceful canines, they too can sometimes suffer from low energy. This may be due to their health concerns which can include several issues:
- Hypothyroidism
- Hip dysplasia
- Sensitive skin
- Patella Luxation
- Prone to frostbite in their ears
- Sensitivity to certain medications and anesthetics
- Von Willebrand’s disease
- Elbow dysplasia
They can, however, live a long life of 15 years.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Hailing from the British territories, these are easily recognized dogs. They have distinct features for instance their height, which gets up to no more than 13 inches, their silky long hair that droops down to their short legs, and come in mainly a chestnut and white color combination with a short face, although some breeders have managed to develop the black and white versions.
Known for their affection and playfulness, they are prone to heart failure and “mitral valve disease” which can lead to their lack of energy and activity. They can also suffer from a painful disease known as “syringomyelia (SM)” which affects their spinal cord, thus they can’t run much even if they wanted to.
Giving Your Dog CBD
As you can see there are a few different canine breeds that can suffer from various health concerns however as a pet owner you can help them to combat some of these by giving them the right stuff – dog CBD oil. CBD has been seen to make a positive difference to these four-legged companions and some of the benefits include helping to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints and bodies of dogs.
It has also been studied to find that CBD can help in reducing anxiety and seizures in dogs, as well as increase their appetite and aid them in eating nutritious food to sustain them, which can make a significant difference in their energy levels. Another bonus benefit of giving them a natural and pure version of CBD is that it helps with any skin issues too.
Helping your doggy to be his or her best self should be a priority for pet owners so they can live a healthy and happy life and stick around for as long as possible.
