Courses Offered At AIC Kapsowar School Of Nursing

This article focuses on the courses offered at AIC Kapsowar School of Nursing. AIC Kapsowar is a Nursing Council of Kenya accredited nursing school that was started in August 2008.

The school is owned and run by AIC Kenya under the auspices of the operating board of AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital. By extension, the foundation of the college is the work of missionaries. It enjoys good support from the missionaries, government, church, leaders, politicians and the community.

The college is committed to training healthcare-related programs at Certificate and Diploma levels and to being champions in the delivery of quality healthcare and the advancement of their profession. The school’s program focuses on mastery of high-level competencies reflecting the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the delivery of safe and quality care.

All students in the school are assured of accommodation and meals within the main campus and in all areas of clinical placements without extra charges outside the school fees. Separate hostels for males and females are provided.

The school admits in March and September every year.

1. Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN)

Duration

  • 3 years.

Requirements

  • KCSE mean grade of C (plain) or KCE Division II.
  • Mandatory subjects, C or Credit in English or Kiswahili.
  • C or Credit in Biology or Biological Sciences.
  • C- or pass in any of the following; Physical Sciences, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.

2. Perioperative Theatre Technology- Level 5 and Level 6

Duration

  • 2 years & 6 months.

Requirements

  • KCSE mean grade of C (plain) with C (plain) in Biology, English/Kiswahili.
  • C- (minus) in Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics.

3. Certificate in Theatre Technology

Duration

  • 1 year and 6 months.

Requirements

  • KCSE mean grade of C (plain) with C (plain) in Biology, English/Kiswahili.
  • C (minus) in Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics.
