Courses Offered At Boma International Hospitality College

In this post, we have a look at the courses offered at Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC). This is a state-of-the-art hospitality school that is located within the BOMA hotel complex in South C, Nairobi. It was established in May 2015 to address an increasing gap in the provision of qualified staff for the Kenyan hospitality industry. It’s an affiliate of the Kenya Red Cross Society.

Boma International Hospitality College offers its courses in conjunction with the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS), a world-class hospitality school in Luzern, Switzerland. The partnership enables undergraduate students to study for their final bachelor’s year at BHMS in Switzerland. BIHC offers three academic programs: short courses, certificate courses and diploma courses.  The short courses are offered on a part-time basis while the certificate and diploma courses are offered on a full-time basis.

1. Diploma in Culinary Arts

This is a 2-year program for students interested in pursuing the chef’s profession while looking to discover and familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of food and beverage management and progress.

This is a 2-year course that equips students with theoretical and practical knowledge of operating a hotel.  This way, they get to learn the two most important operating departments of a hotel: the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage. They get practical applications of the knowledge at the Boma Hotel.
