Courses Offered At KMTC Karen Campus And Fee Structure

This article highlights courses offered at KMTC Karen Campus and their fee structure. KMTC Karen was established in 1965 and is located in the upscale residential area of Karen, approximately 22 kilometres from Nairobi City.

The Danish Government built Karen Campus in honour of the renowned Danish author Karen Blixen (1885-1962). The campus spans a 12.5-acre piece of land and enjoys a picturesque view of the Ngong Hills.

Courses Offered at KMTC Karen Campus

KMTC Karen Campus offers only Nutrition and Dietetics training. The school, therefore, has the following 3 courses.

  1. Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics
  2. Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics
  3. Upgrading Diploma Nutrition & Dietetics

 

  • Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics

Requirements: Mean Grade D+, D+ in English or Kiswahili and Biology/ Biological Sciences, D in Chemistry/Physical Science. D in any one of the following: Home Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, Physics, General Science.

Duration: 2 years

  • Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics

Requirements: Mean Grade C-, D+ in English or Kiswahili and Biology/ Biological Sciences, D+ in Chemistry/Physical Science D in any one of the following: Home Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, Physics, General Science

Duration: 3 years

  • Upgrading Diploma Nutrition & Dietetics

Requirements: Diploma in Nutrition and dietetics

Duration: 2 years

The campus is equipped with various facilities to support learning and student life, including classrooms, administrative and lecturers’ offices, a well-equipped food laboratory, a computer IT laboratory, a student clinic, a nutrition skills lab, demonstration gardens, a college bus, fire-fighting equipment and a fire assembly hall, a borehole for water supply, and hostels.
