Courses Offered At KMTC Kuria Campus And Fee Structure

This is a list of all courses offered at KMTC Kuria campus and their fee structure. KMTC Kuria Campus is situated in Kehancha town, Kuria West Constituency, Migori County. It is located next to Kehancha Level Four Hospital.

The campus was established in a collaborative effort between the KMTC Board of Directors and the County Government of Migori, with the county donating an eight-acre piece of land. It was opened on November 21, 2015.

Courses Offered at KMTC Kuria Campus

Currently, the KMTC Kuria campus offers 5 diploma and certificate courses. Below is the list including the requirements and time each course takes to complete.

  1. Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences
  2. Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology
  3. Diploma in Clinical Medicine
  4. Diploma in Nursing
  5. Upgrading Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology

 

  • Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences

Requirements: Mean Grade C-, C- in English or Kiswahili D+ in Biology/ Biological Sciences and D in Mathematics D in any one of the following: Home Science, Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Electricity or Woodwork

Duration: 2 years

  • Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology

Requirements: Mean Grade C-, C- in English or Kiswahili, and D in Biology/ Biological Sciences. D- in Mathematics and D+ in any one of the following: – Physics/Physical Sciences, Chemistry, General Science, Computer Studies, agriculture, Home Science, Economics, Geography,  Commerce, and Business Studies

Duration: 2 years

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili, and C in Biology/ Biological Sciences, C- in Chemistry/Physical Sciences C- in any one of the following: Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences

Duration: 3 years

  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry/ Physics/ Physical Science or Mathematics

Duration: 3 years

  • Upgrading Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology

Requirements: Certificate in Health Records and Information

Duration: 2 years

For clinical experience, students primarily utilize Kuria Sub County Hospital, along with other health facilities in the area ranging from level four to level six hospitals.

KMTC has recently released the Fees Structure for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.  The structure is available for both self-sponsored students and government-sponsored students. Below are the details.

Deposits can be made at any branch of the bank nationwide. Also, note that the college does not accept direct cash payments on campus.

The student population is approximately 500, with an expectation of an increase in the next intake, especially after the implementation of the Nursing and Clinical Medicine programs.

The campus also provides opportunities for sports such as football, basketball, handball, volleyball, indoor games, and athletics. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on spiritual development, with vibrant Christian Union, Young Catholic Association, Seventh Day Adventist, and Muslim Association present to cater to students’ religious needs.
