Courses Offered At KMTC Loitoktok Campus And Fee Structure

This article looks into all courses offered at KMTC Loitoktok campus and their fee structure. KMTC Loitoktok Campus was established in 1987 and is one of a few KMTC campuses that train students in the field of Medical Engineering.  The school started by offering a Certificate course in Medical Engineering, up until 2018 when an in-service program was introduced to assist certificate holders in Medical Engineering to pursue diplomas of the same.

Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade C-, C- in English or Kiswahili, D in Mathematics, and D- in Physics/Physical Sciences. D in any one of the following: Chemistry, Biology/Biological Sciences, Electricity, Metal Work, Technical Drawing

Duration: 2 years

  • Certificate in Community Health Nursing

Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade C-, C- in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. D+ in any one of the following: – Physics/Physical Sciences, Chemistry, or Mathematics

Duration: 2 years

  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing

Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry/ Physics/ Physical Science, or Mathematics

Duration: 3 years

  • Upgrading in medical engineering

Requirements: Certificate in Medical Engineering

Duration: 2 years

  • Diploma in Medical Engineering

Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Mathematics and Physics/Physical Sciences. C- in any one of the following: – Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Electricity, Metal Work, Technical Drawing

Duration: 3 years

Clinical experience plays a crucial role in students’ training, and the primary clinical site for KMTC Loitoktok campus is Loitokitok Level 4 Hospital, located adjacent to the campus. Other clinical sites are:

  • Kimana Health Centre
  • Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital
