Courses Offered At KMTC Mwingi Campus And Fee Structure

This is a list of all courses offered at KMTC Mwingi campus and their fee structure. KMTC Mwingi Campus was established in 2015 through a collaboration between the KMTC Board of Directors, the County Government of Kitui, Mwingi Level 4 Hospital, and other stakeholders. It is located one kilometre off Mwingi-Garissa road, along Mwingi-Nzeluni road, adjacent to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital.

Courses Offered at KMTC Mwingi Campus

KMTC Mwingi Campus currently offers the following programs and courses:

  1. Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery
  2. Diploma in Community Health Nursing
  3. Diploma in Pharmacy
  4. Short course – HIV Training and Counseling Services (HTS)

 

  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry/ Physics/ Physical Science or Mathematics

Duration: 3 years

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili, and C in Biology/ Biological Sciences, C- in Chemistry/Physical Sciences C- in any one of the following: Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences

Duration: 3 years

  • Diploma in Pharmacy

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Chemistry/Physical Science and Biology or Biological Sciences C in any one of the following: – Physics/Physical Sciences or Mathematics

Duration: 3 years

  • Short course – HIV Training and Counseling Services (HTS)

Requirements: Diploma in any field. Health workers Anyone interested in working in HIV/AIDS programs

Duration: 3 weeks

Students at KMTC Mwingi Campus have the opportunity to gain practical experience at various clinical sites. These clinical experience sites provide students with real-world exposure and hands-on training, preparing them for their future careers. They include;

  3. Kyuso Hospital
  4. Migwani Hospital
  5. Ngomeni Health Centre
  6. Nguni Health Centre
  7. Tseikuru Hospital
  8. Waita Health Centre

KMTC Mwingi Campus Fee Structure

KMTC has recently released the Fees Structure for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.  The structure is available for both self-sponsored students and government-sponsored students. Below are the details.

The school is equipped with well-furnished classrooms, a fully equipped skills lab, a well-stocked library with ample medical books for both staff and students and an administration block.

Various clubs and societies are available to cater to students’ personal and spiritual development. Some of the clubs and societies available include the Christian Union (CU), Young Christian Society (YCS), Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA), and SWAGA, which focuses on HIV and behavioural change. Sports activities are also encouraged at the campus, including athletics, jumps, throws, and indoor games.
