Flitestar Academy Courses And Fee Structure

This article focuses on Flitestar Academy courses and the fee structure. It is one of the accredited aviation schools by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority ( KCCA). The school is located on the 1st floor of Pewin House, adjacent to I&M Bank, at Wilson Airport in Nairobi.

Flitestar Academy is accredited to offer the following courses: Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License ( CPL), and Flight Operations and Dispatch. Below are the course requirements and fee structure.

Flitestar Academy Courses And Fee Structure

1. Private Pilot License (PPL)

Duration: 4-6 months

Cost: Ksh 1,206,060

Minimum flight hours: 40

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 17 years.
  • Must speak English(Verified through KCSE certificate or equivalent).
  • In possession of a Class II Medical certificate.
  • In possession of a KCAA student pilot license(SPL).
  • An applicant must fill out an official application at Flitestar Academy and pay a deposit for the course.
  • A filled out Admission form.
  • Copy of National ID or passport.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Two passport-sized photos.

2. Commercial Pilot License ( CPL)

Duration: 7- 12 months

Cost: Ksh 3,970,460

Minimum flight hours: 170

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Minimum educational qualification of mean grade C+ or equivalent with at least grade C in English and mathematics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language following the language proficiency requirements.
  • In possession of at least a Class II medical certificate.
  • Have a valid copy of PPL issued by KCAA.
  • Filled out  admission form.
  • Copy of National ID or passport.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Two passport-sized photos.

3. Flight operation and dispatch

Duration: 5 months

Cost: Ksh 174,000

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 19 years.
  • Minimum educational qualification of mean grade C or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Have sufficient knowledge of Mathematics and Physics to facilitate a good understanding of the theoretical knowledge and instructions of the course.
  • Copy of National ID or passport.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Two passport-sized photos.

4. Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR)

This course enables private pilots to fly fly in instrument meteorological conditions (such as inside clouds or days with poor visibility).

Registration Fee (if not previously registered) – Kes. 4,000

20 Hours Simulator @ 6,500 –  Kes.130,000

25 flying hours @ 66,000 – Kes.1,650,000

Duration: 1- 2 months

Cost: Ksh 2,029,000

Minimum flight hours: 25 hours

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 17 years.
  • Minimum educational qualification of mean grade C+ or equivalent with at least grade C+ in English, Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry and Geography.
  • Fully filled out Admission form.
  • Copy of National ID or passport.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Two passport-sized photos.
