This is an updated list of all senior counsels in Kenya.
Kenyan legal system is drawn from the English legal system and heritage, so is the position of Senior Counsel (SC ) which is borrowed from the English, Queen’s Counsel (QC). Senior counsels in Kenya are privileged with an allocation of special seats in courts, allowed to wear special robes, and given preference in dealing with the Judiciary, among other privileges.
Section 20 of the Advocates Act in Kenya also provides the senior counsels precedence in addressing the court before any advocate, only the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions precedes them.
