This is a simple guide on how to register, check, redeem, and transfer Bonga Points. Bonga Points is a loyalty scheme for all Safaricom PrePay and PostPay subscribers. The scheme provides rewards for using a Safaricom line. One earns Bonga Points immediately after registering for the scheme.
You get one Bonga Point for every Ksh 10 spent on voice calls, SMS or data. Bonga Points can be redeemed for rewards ranging from Talk-time (Minutes), Data, SMS, and MMS bundles to Merchandise redeemable at any Safaricom Retail Centers across Kenya.
How To Register For Bonga Points
Simply dial *126# and follow the prompts to enrol for Bonga Points. You will get 30 free Bonga Points upon registration.
How to set your Bonga PIN
PrePay customers:
- Dial *126# and reply with 5 or dial *126*5#
- Select the “Set New PIN” option
- Enter National ID number
- Enter the last direct top-up amount
- Enter PIN
- Confirm PIN
- Click OK to confirm
PostPay customers should call Customer Care on 200 from your Safaricom lines to have their PINs auto set.
Bonga PIN is required when transferring your Bonga Points.
How to Check Bonga Points
To check the number of Bonga points you have accumulated, dial *126# and select option 2.
How to Redeem Bonga Points
You can redeem your Bonga Points by dialling *126# and selecting option 4. Bonga points can be redeemed for free airtime, minutes, SMS, Internet, MMMs, Phones, Tablets, Accessories, and Kenya Airways tickets. You can also redeem your Bonga points at any Buy goods Lipa na MPESA merchant and select Paybill numbers.
How To Transfer/ Sambaza Bonga Points
Make sure you have set your Bonga PIN before transferring your Bonga Points. Dial *126# and select option 6 to transfer your Bonga Points. You will be prompted to enter a phone number to transfer Bonga Points to. The minimum number of Bonga Points you can transfer is 50.
