This is a step by step guide on how to make NHIF payments via the self care portal. NHIF self care is an online portal/ platform that allows you to access various services.You can make payments, change facility, view contributions, view and pay penalties and many more.
How to Register on NHIF Self Care
1.visit the official NHIF website https://www.nhif.or.ke/ and click on Self Care.
2. Click on register.
3. Provide your NHIF card number, email address and an active phone number.
4. You will receive an SMS containing a One Time Password (OTP). The OTP is valid for 24 hours.
5. Use the One Time Password (OTP) to create a secure Password to access the service.
How to Make NHIF Payments Via the Self Care Portal
1. Log in to the NHIF website https://www.nhif.or.ke/ and select Self Care.
2. Sign in to NHIF self-care through eCitizen account or NHIF account.
3. Once you have signed in, select pay contributions.
4. Upon selecting pay contributions, you can choose to pay for yourself or pay for others.
5. Fill in the correct details and amount to pay.
6. After correctly filling in the details and the amount to pay, a prompt message from Mpesa will be displayed on your phone for you to enter your Mpesa PIN.
7. After entering the Mpesa PIN, you will get a confirmation message of successful transaction from both Safaricom and NHIF.
8. Upon confirmation of the successful transaction, you can proceed to sign out from the NHIF self care platform.
