This is a simple guide on how to pay for your water bill to Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company via Mpesa. This is a subsidiary of Nairobi City County which is mandated to provide clean water and sewerage services to the residents in a financially sustainable manner and within the Government regulations. The company which was incorporated in December 2003 has its main offices along Kampala Road, off Enterprise Road in Industrial Area.
To pay for your water bill via Mpesa, you will need to know your water account number and Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company’s Mpesa Paybill number (444400)
How To Pay For Nairobi Water Bill via Mpesa
1. Go to your Mpesa Menu
2. Select Lipa na Mpesa
3. Select PayBill
4. Enter 444400 as the business number
5. Enter your account number
6. Enter the amount you want to pay
7. Enter your Mpesa pin and press OK
8. You will receive a transaction confirmation message from Mpesa.
Please note that it takes between 24- 48 hours for your payment to reflect in Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company’s system.

1. Go to your Mpesa Menu
2. Select Lipa na Mpesa
3. Select PayBill
4. Enter 530100 as the business number
5. Enter your account number – add NWC before your account number.
6. Enter the amount you want to pay
7. Enter your Mpesa pin and press OK
8. You will receive a transaction confirmation message from Mpesa
