This article dwells on how to pay for parking in Nakuru County. In 2021, Nakuru was conferred the city status by the then president Uhuru Kenyatta. Since then, the county has been working hard to meet the new city status. As one of the ways to achieve this, the Nakuru County Government introduced a new cashless system called the Integrated Revenue Collection and Management System- a cashless system to aid citizens in paying for County Government services.
It utilizes the latest technology to improve citizen service delivery, increase efficiency and enhance revenue collection, fasten the decision-making process, reduce revenue collection gaps, Improve service delivery, and give real-time reporting.
One service you can use this system for is paying for parking. Since this technology is new for many people, figuring out how to pay for parking might be confusing. So, how can you pay for parking in Nakuru County? There are three ways to do so that we have explained in detail below.
How To Pay for Parking In Nakuru County
1. Pay Using USSD and MPESA
This is the most convenient way to pay for parking while in Nakuru. Follow the simple steps outlined below.
- On your phone, dial 703#. A menu will appear showing a list of county services
- Select Street Parking
- Choose your current sub-county
- Select the type of vehicle you wish to pay parking for
- Enter the vehicle’s registration number
- Confirm the information and proceed to pay your parking fees through M-Pesa by selecting ‘Accept Payment.’
- An M-Pesa payment pop-up will appear on your phone. Here, enter your PIN to complete the payment for your parking ticket.
Once you’ve made the payments, it will immediately be reflected in the County Government revenue system.
2. Pay Using Paybill Number
Another way to pay for parking in Nakuru using the county government’s official paybill number. Here is how to go about it.
- Go to MPesa and select Lipa Na Mpesa
- Select the Paybill option
- Enter 3232323 as the paybill number
- Enter your vehicle registration number as the account number in the format example NESPF-KCW 363W#205
- Enter the amount to be paid
- Enter your Mpesa pin then send.
You will receive a confirmation message from Mpesa. The transaction will also immediately reflect on the County Government revenue system.
3. Pay Online Using Nakuru Pay
You can also use Nakuru Pay to pay for your parking in Nakuru. NakuruPay is available online on nakurupay.com and as an application. The application is available in Google Play Store and Apple Store. This is how you go about it:
- For online, visit nakurupay.com, for the app, download it on the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
- Register for an account. Input your details including your name, phone number, email address, and password.
- Once registered, a verification will be sent to either your phone or email address.
- Complete the verification then proceed to log in to your account
- On the drop-down menu, select Seasonal Parking
- Choose Applications
- Select New Application and fill in all the required information including the vehicle and personal details then hit submit
- Wait for verification which typically takes a while.
- Once verified, you can proceed to make the payments
- Log in to the portal and choose the service you need which in this case select Seasonal Parking. Choose the “Pay Online” option and complete the payment. NakuruPay currently only supports Mpesa.
