How To Register And Apply For Government Tenders In Kenya

AGPO is a government program that grants youth, women and persons with disabilities-owned enterprises opportunities to participate in government tenders through the supply of goods, services and works.

Other target groups that can benefit from the scheme include micro and small enterprises, citizen contractors, local contractors as well as citizen contractors in Joint-venture or subcontracting arrangements with foreign suppliers.

Eligibility requirements
In order to be eligible for the program, an enterprise must:
-Be a legally registered entity either as sole-proprietor, partnership or limited company.
-Have a 70% membership consisting of youth, women and persons with disabilities.
-Have a 100% leadership of youth, women and persons with disabilities.

Documentation requirements
Besides eligibility, qualification to the fund requires additional documentation which includes:
-Copy of national ID/Passport
-KRA tax compliance certificate
-Business Registration Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation.
-PIN/VAT Certificate.
-Partnership Deed for Partnership Business.
-Memorandum/Articles of Association and CR12 mandatory for Registered Companies.
-Letter/Certificate from the National Construction Authority, Energy Regulatory Commission or any other Authorised Public Technical Body ( if the applicant is in the construction business )

Registration Process
1.Log into www.agpo.go.ke and click on ‘register’
2. Create an account by filling in personal details, email address and by setting a password. Upon completion, an activation link will be sent via the email address provided above.
3.Login to your email account and click on the link to complete your account’s activation
4.Log into the AGPO system under returning user Page using the email address and password you had set in step 2 above.
5.Register business by providing information in the required fields and attach the required ORIGINAL scanned documents/ downloaded softcopies.
6. Visit your nearest Huduma Kenya Center, countrywide – AGPO desk for processing of the application.
