How To Register For EduAfya Health Services In Kenya

This is a guide on how to register for EduAfya health services in Kenya. Eduafya is medical insurance for all public secondary school secondary students for the duration of their study and it is fulfilled by the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

Those eligible for this medical insurance are students in a public Secondary School which is under the National Education Information System (NEMIS) and the scheme will only cover the student and no parent or dependent of the student will be covered. To be eligible for this medical insurance, the student must also be registered by NHIF through Nemis database.

How to register

1. Register the student on Nemis database.

2. The data shall be shared by the Ministry of  Education to NHIF for registration.

3. The student to be registered shall be physically present for biometric registration at his/her school.

The package provides both outpatient and inpatient services to registered members including specialized like drug and Substance Abuse rehabilitation services, renal services and dialysis, specialized radiological diagnostic services, chronic ailment services like diabetes and hypertension. Also in the cover is a dental cover, optical cover, emergency road rescue, emergency air rescue, group personal accident cover and even road rescue.
