How to Reverse Airtel Money Transaction in Kenya

This method is the fastest way to reverse Airtel money transactions especially when the transaction is just completed. Follow these steps.

For Reversal of Transactions Done Immediately

  1. On your dialer, press *334#
  2. Select option 8: My account/PIN
  3. From there, choose option 2: Reverse Transaction
  4. Select option 1: Initiate Transaction Reversal
  5. Here, select Select the last transaction sent.
  6. Next, enter your Airtel Money PIN to complete the transaction

For reversal of older transactions

  1. On your dialer, press *334#
  2. Select option 8: My account/PIN
  3. From there, choose option 2: Reverse Transaction
  4. Select option 1: Initiate Transaction Reversal
  5. Here, select option1: Other WSend Transactions
  6. Enter Airtel Money Transaction ID
  7. Next, enter your Airtel Money PIN and complete the transaction

Another way to reverse an Airtel Money transaction is by calling Airtel customer care through their official customer care number which is 100 or 0733 100100. An agent will be there to help you with the reversal. Airtel customer care services are fast and free so you don’t have to worry about inefficiency. After dialing, choose Airtel Money services from the voice menu then select Airtel Money reversal. From there, you will be redirected to a sales representative agent whom you will speak directly to.

How to Approve a Reversal Request as the Receiver

  1. Dial *334# on your dialer
  2. Select option 8: My account/PIN
  3. From there, choose option 2: Reverse Transaction
  4. Here select option 2: Approve/reject pending reversal
  5. Choose the transaction you want to reverse
  6. Enter your Airtel Money PIN and press OK

NOTE: Funds need to be present in the recipient’s account, and the recipient should not have initiated any withdrawals or transfers to another account. However, if the recipient has already utilized the funds, the reversal process will not take place. The duration for the money to be returned to your account might extend up to a maximum of 48 hours so be patient.
