Jamii Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

This article focuses on Jamii Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. Jamii Sacco is a savings and credit society that was officially registered in 1972. It was established by civil servants of the Department of Social Service.

It is one of the largest deposit-taking Saccos in Kenya with an asset base of 5.44 billion. Its mission is to mobilise savings and provide credit through innovative products and services in a dynamic business environment, to ensure optimum returns and exceptional customer experience.

Jamii Sacco Membership Eligibility

Any person can join the Sacco from all the segments of the market including;

  • Public service employees.
  • Other government ministries and parastatals.
  • Employees of Jamii Sacco.
  • Government institutions/ parastatals such as Kenya National Library, WEF etc.
  • Employees in private companies and NGOs.
  • Self-employed individuals.
  • Self-help registered groups and community-based organisations.

Jamii Sacco Membership Requirements

  • Fill in the membership application form which can be downloaded from the Sacco’s website or obtained from its offices or from the delegates at every county.
  • Original and copy of National ID.
  • Copy of KRA PIN number.
  • Entrance fee of Kshs 1,000.
  • Minimum monthly contribution of Kshs 3,300 (Kshs 300 being Jamii Benevolent Fund monthly).
  • Minimum share capital of Kshs 20,000 which is payable in installments of Kshs 500 every month.
