Kenya National Police Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

This article focuses on Kenya National Police Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. The Sacco was registered on 20th November 1972 and issued a registration certificate, CS/ 2092.

The Society started with a membership of 690 and has since grown to 71,000 members. It has an asset base of Kshs 48.7 billion, a loan portfolio of Kshs 41 billion and a Kshs 29 billion total deposit.

Kenya National Police Sacco has various branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kakamega, Meru, Nyeri, Kisii and Nakuru.

Kenya National Police Sacco Membership Eligibility

A person of either gender is eligible for membership if he/she is in possession of the following qualifications;

  • Serving and retired regular police officers.
  • Serving and retired administration police officers.
  • Civilians in the employment of the Kenya Police Service.
  • Employee of the Kenya National Police DT Sacco Society.
  • Permanent employee of Utumishi Investment Limited.
  • Permanent employee of Ruaraka Housing Estate Limited.
  • Employees of the civil service.
  • Employees from the corporate entities operating in Kenya.
  • Business community.
  • Spouse, son or daughter of the above members.

Kenya National Police Sacco Membership Requirements

The following documents are required;

  • A fully filled membership application form which can be downloaded from the Sacco’s website.
  • Copy of the National Identity Card (both sides).
  • Two recent colour passport size photographs.

Membership Withdrawal

  • Membership withdrawal is voluntary and one needs to inform the Sacco in writing of his/her intentions to withdraw. This is done by providing a written and signed letter and filled withdrawal form available at the Sacco’s offices.
  • The process takes 60 days after the letter has been acknowledged and only when the necessary requirements have been met, i.e, member must have cleared all his/her liabilities with the Sacco and has replaced all the members he/she has guaranteed.
