In this article, we are going to list all the postal rates for sending parcels in Kenya. The Postal Corporation Of Kenya was established by an Act Of Parliament in 1998 and operates as a commercial public enterprise. The Corporation is mandated to provide accessible, affordable, and reliable postal services to all parts of Kenya. There are 623 post offices spread across the country.
For domestic parcels, mails are delivered to the respective Post Box within 24hrs in the same town and within two days to the rest of the country. One can send items up to 50 kgs. For items weighing above 50kgs, special arrangements are made with the postmaster.
For international parcels, there are two options; Air and surface parcel services. Air parcels generally take 5 to 13 days, while surface parcels take 1 week to 3 Months subject to the container consolidation period. Surface airlifted (SAL) Parcels are airlifted to their destination countries and delivered as surface parcels upon arrival. The maximum weight of an individual international surface/air parcel varies from country to country but the maximum Universal Postal Union (UPU) weight is 31.5 kgs.
