KWS Training Institute Courses and Fees Structure

This is a list of courses offered at Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute and their fees structure. The KWS Training Institute is located in Naivasha. It was established in 1985 as Naivasha Wildlife and Fisheries Training Institute to offer an in-service training institute for the then departments of wildlife and fisheries under the Ministry of tourism and wildlife.

In 2009, it was registered as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution (TVET). As a TVET institution, it has the authority to award certificates and diplomas. Certificate courses take 9 months (2 semesters) while diploma courses take 18 months (4 semesters).

a) Certificate Courses Offered at Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute

1. Certificate in Community Wildlife Management

2. Certificate in Nature Interpretation & Tour Administration

3. Certificate in Aquaculture

Minimum Qualifications

D (Plain) or D- (Minus) with 3 years of working experience in a relevant field.

Tuition Fee per semester  for certificate Courses

  • Ksh. 55,000 – Citizens of East Africa
  • USD 1,130 – Other nationalities

b) Diploma Courses offered at Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute

1. Diploma in Wildlife Management

2. Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management

3. Diploma in Environmental Management

4. Diploma in Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences

Minimum Qualifications

C- or D+ with 3 yrs of working experience.

Tuition Fee per semester  for Diploma Courses

  • Ksh. 39,000 – Citizens of East Africa
  • USD 760 – Other nationalities
