This is a list of top 20 poorest countries in Europe as of 2019 by GDP Per capita. Though Europe is home to some of the richest countries in the world, there are some countries still struggling economically. Moldova which is a landlocked country located in South-Eastern Europe is the poorest with a GDP (PPP) per capita of 5,998 USD while Luxembourg is the richest with a GDP (PPP) per capita of 110,870 USD. This is according to the latest data from the International Monetary Fund.

As much as the listed European countries are poor, they are actually doing better than most of the poorest countries in other continents. For instance, the poorest country in Africa (Burundi) has a GDP (PPP) per capita of  285.73 USD compared to 5,998 USD of Moldova which is the poorest in Europe.
