This article highlights the courses offered at KMTC Kisumu Campus. KMTC Kisumu campus was started in 1953 and is one of the biggest KMTC campuses in Kenya with a yearly output of over 200 trained health professionals. The campus is located in Kondele area next to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital on Kisumu-Kakamega road approximately two kilometers from Kisumu town.

  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing

Requirements:  Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry or Physics/ Physical Science or Mathematics

Duration: 3 years

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili, and C in Biology/ Biological Sciences, C- in Chemistry/Physical Sciences C- in any one of the following: Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences

Duration: 3 years

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Physics/Physical Sciences and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: – Mathematics, Chemistry

  • Diploma in Pharmacy

Duration: 2 weeks

Students at KMTC Kisumu have access to a well-stocked library, a Well-equipped computer lab, a skills lab, a fast Wi-fi hotspot, and a Hostel block. Currently, there are over 1000 students in the school with the number expected to increase in the next subsequent intakes.

Students also have their practical lessons mainly at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and Kisumu County Hospital which are both approximately two kilometers from the Campus. The other sites for rural experience include the Mbale, Mosoriot, and Muhoroni Rural Health Training Centre.
