This article will look at courses offered at the KMTC Nakuru campus. KMTC Nakuru campus, located in Milimani Estate along Cresent Road, Nakuru is among the largest KMTC campuses in the country. The campus sits on 52 acres which it shares with Nakuru County Teaching and Referral Hospital.

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili, and C in Biology/ Biological Sciences, C- in Chemistry/Physical Sciences C- in any one of the following: Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences

  • Diploma in Nursing

Requirements: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Chemistry or Physics/ Physical Science or Mathematics

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences

  • Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine – Anesthesia

Requirements: Diploma in clinical medicine; Valid practising license; and 2-year working experience

  • Higher Diploma in Nephrology Nursing

Requirements: Diploma in Nursing or in Community, Health Nursing(KRN/KRCHN). Diploma in Nursing (KRN/ KRM) and one-year Post Graduation experience

  • Upgrading Diploma Nursing

Certificate in Community Health Nursing (KECN). Registration by the Nursing Council of Kenya 2 Years post-graduation experience

Nakuru County Teaching and Referral Hospital is the primary clinical site used by students for their practical skills.

Currently, the Campus has a student population of 1,530 comprising pre-service, upgrading diploma, and post-basic students. To cater to this, the campus has four hostel blocks for male students with a bed capacity of 507 and six female hostel blocks with a bed capacity of 484 students.

It also has a well-equipped modern library, which can accommodate up to 300 students, with a wide range of textbooks and other learning materials and a fully equipped computer lab with a strong internet connection for use by students pursuing courses within the campus.
