This is a list of all licensed credit reference bureaus (CRBs) in Kenya. A credit reference bureau is a firm mandated by the Central Bank of Kenya to collect credit information about borrowers from various sources and provide it to lenders (mostly banks).

Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs) assist lenders in determining the creditworthiness of their borrowers. CRBs allow for credit information sharing among financial institutions. You only get listed by CRB if you default a loan by at least 90 days. The law requires CRB to retain the defaulter’s information for a period of 5 years from when the loan was cleared.

Just in case you have been blacklisted, the following licensed bureaus can assist in clearing your name. Remember that you must settle your loan in order to get a clearance certificate.
