1. Kenyatta National Hospital – Private Wing Maternity Charges
This is the oldest and largest hospital in Kenya. It is a public, tertiary, referral hospital for the Ministry of Health. It charges a deposit of Ksh 50,000 for normal delivery and Kshs 80,000 deposit for Caesarean section delivery at their private wing. The charges for normal delivery can go as high as Ksh 120,000 and Ksh 250,000 for cesarean section delivery. However, those who have NHIF cards receive free maternity care in the General ward.

Karen hospital is one of the best hospitals in Kenya with world-class technology, doctors, and medical care. They charge Ksh 100,000 for normal delivery at a general ward and Ksh 120,000 for normal delivery at a private room. Caesarean section delivery at the general ward costs Ksh 200,000 and Ksh 230,000 at a private room.

3. Nairobi Hospital Maternity Charges
Opened in 1954, The Nairobi Hospital has excelled in medical expertise and services provided and has deservedly earned recognition throughout East Africa and beyond as an advanced diagnostic, treatment and referral centre. It’s regarded as one of the best hospitals in Kenya. They charge Ksh 80,000 for normal delivery and Ksh 160,000 for a caesarean section delivery.

4. Mater Hospital Maternity Charges
The Mater Hospital is a Catholic health care institution under The Sisters of Mercy with clinics in some parts of Nairobi i.e Embakasi, Westlands, Buruburu, Thika, and Kasarani. They charge between Ksh 77,000 – 100,000 for normal delivery and Ksh 250,000 for a caesarean section delivery.
It’s the main hospital is located along Dunga Road in South B.
5. Nairobi Women’s Hospital Maternity Charges
The hospital was founded in 2001 by Dr Sam Thenya and is the first of its kind in the East and Central Africa region. The hospital is well equipped and staffed to handle all maternity services. They charge 30,000 for normal delivery and 145,000 for a caesarean section delivery.

The hospital is located in Nairobi West, off Lang’ata Road on Gandhi Avenue, approximately 150 metres from Nairobi West Shopping centre. They charge Ksh 55,000 for normal delivery and Ksh 168,000 for caesarean section delivery.
