Mathai Supermarket was established in 2014 and is owned by Victor Maina, a businessman based in Thika. Its first store was opened in Nairobi CBD along Ronald Ngala Street with the head office located in Thika along Mama Ngina Drive. Maathai stocks nearly everything from foodstuffs to basic tools to fashion items and even genuine electronics. They also have a small cafe/eating place where they serve snacks and a couple of common delicacies.
