Full List of 114 Outlawed Groups and Gangs in Kenya

The government of Kenya has outlawed a total of 114 groups and gangs which are believed to be causing insecurity in the country.  It started way back in 2010 when former Internal Security PS Francis Kimemia gazetted 33 groups under the Organized Crimes Act. In 2016, the late Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery added the number to 90 groups where he said that the members of listed groups face a fine not exceeding Sh5 million or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 years, or both.

On January 30th, 2018, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, added National Resistance Movement, an arm of NASA to the outlawed groups.  Below is a full list of the outlawed groups and gangs in Kenya.
