This is a list of Regional Development Authorities in Kenya. Regional Development Authorities (RDAs) in Kenya were constituted based on river basins and large water basins, to spur regional development through sustainable utilization and conservation of natural resources.
RDAs act as strategic drivers of regional socio-economic development through planning, developing, implementing and coordinating integrated basin based projects and programs. This includes projects such as the provision of hydropower, water supplies for irrigation, domestic and industrial use, flood control, value addition and environmental conservation.
Regional Development Authorities In Kenya
1. Ewaso Ng’iro South Development Authority
The authority is mandated to plan and co-ordinate the implementation of development projects in the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin and catchment areas. The authority covers the counties of Narok, Kajiado, Nakuru and Nyandarua.

2. Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority
The authority was established on 1st December 1989, through the Ewaso Ngiro North River Basin Development Authority Act CAP 448 of the Laws of Kenya. Its mandate is to plan, coordinate and implement development projects and programmes in the Ewaso Ngiro North basin and catchment areas. It covers the counties of Isiolo, Wajir, Marsabit, Mandera, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Samburu, Meru, Nyeri and Garissa.

3. Tana And Athi Rivers Development Authority
The authority’s mandate is to plan and coordinate the implementation of development projects in the TRDA areas. It is also tasked with optimal management of Tana and Athi River Basins resources for social and economic development. It covers the counties of Kiambu, Nairobi, Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Tana River, Kirinyaga, Kilifi, Muranga, Nyeri, Meru, Myandarua, Isiolo, Garissa, Lamu and Taita Taveta.

4. Kerio Valley Development Authority
It was established by an Act of Parliament CAP 441, with a mandate to initiate, plan and develop resources along the Kerio River basin. The authority covers the counties of West Pokot, Turkana, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Samburu and Nakuru.

5. Lake Basin Development Authority
It was established by an Act of parliament Cap 442 on 31st of August 1979. The authority was established to act as a strategic driver of socio-economic development and spur regional development through sustainable utilization and conservation of natural resources through overall planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of projects within the Lake Victoria basin.

6. Coast Development Authority
It is a state corporation established by an Act of parliament No 20 of 1990 (Cap 449), mandated to provide integrated development planning, coordination and implementation of projects and programmes within the Coastal region and the southern part of Garissa County (Ijara and Fafi).
