This is a list of Taifa Sacco branches in Kenya. Taifa Sacco was started in January 1974 as a banking section of the Nyeri District Cooperative Union to offer banking services to the rural farmers in Nyeri who were members of cooperative societies.
The Sacco registered tremendous growth from an initial membership of 9,500 to a membership of 97,500 in 1998. It was found provident to detach the banking section from Nyeri District Cooperative Union to boost efficiency and concentrate on the provision of banking services.
On 29th January 1998, the banking section was transformed into an agricultural-based rural savings and credit society and registered as Nyeri Farmers Sacco Society.
The Sacco started intensifying its service delivery in new product development, new Target groups and a wider customer base. This led to the rebranding of the Sacco to Taifa Sacco on 30th May 2006.
With an asset base of 4.57 billion, it is one of the largest deposit-taking Saccos in Kenya.
