This is a list of marketable KMTC courses in Kenya. Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is a State Corporation established in 1927 through an Act of Parliament Cap 261 of the laws of Kenya, amended by Act No. 5 of 2019.
KMTC is one of the oldest and largest medical training colleges for training health professionals in Kenya, East and Central Africa. It is headquartered in Nairobi, opposite Kenyatta National Hospital, along old Mbagathi Road. It has 71 campuses distributed across 43 counties.

1. Pharmacy
Pharmacy is a marketable medical field that has good job opportunities once one completes his/her studies. KMTC offers a Higher Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and Diploma in Pharmacy. The courses take 1½ and 3 years respectively.
Qualifications (Diploma): Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Chemistry/Physical Science and Biology or Biological Sciences, C in any one of the following: Physics/Physical Sciences or Mathematics.
2. Radiography and Imaging
The best and marketable radiography course to study at KMTC is a Diploma in Radiography and Imaging. It takes three years and is offered on selected campuses.
Qualifications: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Physics/Physical Sciences and Biology/Biological Sciences. C- in any one of the following: Mathematics and Chemistry.
3. Nursing
Nursing is one of the marketable medical courses in Kenya. KMTC offers the best nursing courses at the Diploma level, Higher Diploma and Certificate level. It offers nursing courses in areas such as Critical care nursing, Pediatric nursing, Psychiatric nursing, Ophthalmic Nursing, Nephrology nursing, Palliative care nursing, Family health nursing and community health nursing.
4. Clinical Medicine & Surgery
KMTC is the best institution in Kenya that offers the course at the Diploma level. The course takes a duration of three years and is offered on selected campuses.
Qualification: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili, C in Biology/Biological Sciences, C- in Chemistry/Physical Sciences, C- in any one of the following: Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences.
5. Optometry
KMTC offers a Higher Diploma in Optometry and Diploma in Optometry. The courses take durations of 1 year and 3 years respectively.

6. Health Records and Information Technology
KMTC offers a Certificate and Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology. The courses take 2 years and 3 years respectively and are offered on selected campuses.
7. Dental Technology
KMTC offers the course at the Diploma level on selected campuses. It takes a duration of three years.
Qualifications: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Physics/Physical Sciences or Chemistry, C- in Biology/Biological Sciences and in any one of the following: Metalwork, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physical Science.
8. Physiotherapy
The best course to study is a Diploma in Physiotherapy. It takes a duration of three years and is offered in selected campuses.
Qualification: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and C- in Biology, C- in any two of the following: Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics/Physical Sciences.
9. Medical Laboratory Science and Technology
The course qualifies one to work as a laboratory specialist or technologist in medical or research institutions. It is offered at the Diploma level on selected campuses.
Qualification: Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and Biology/ Biological Sciences and Chemistry/Physical Sciences and C in any one of the following: Physics/Physical Sciences or Mathematics.
10. Orthopedic Technology
It is a marketable course offered by KMTC at Diploma and Higher Diploma levels. The Higher Diploma takes a duration of one year and is offered in Nairobi while the Diploma course takes a duration of 3 years and is offered on select campuses.
Qualification (Diploma): Mean Grade C, C in English or Kiswahili and C- in Biology/Biological Sciences, D+ in any of the following: Physics/Physical Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Woodwork, Metal Work and Technical Drawing.
