This article will focus on the fee structure for nursing at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital MTRH College of Medicine. Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital operates a fully-fledged College of Medicine that provides specialized training for healthcare providers in nursing, clinical medicine, health leadership, health records, orthopaedics, wound care management, mortician services and anaesthetic assistants.
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital College of Medicine has been in operation since 2004. The college started as an upgrading centre for enrolled community nurses before being accredited to offer other health sciences courses in 2009.
MTRH College Of Medicine is accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya to offer a diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) and a diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (In Service) by distance learning (KRCHN).
1. Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN)
Period of study: 36 Months (3 Years) Full Time
Minimum Admission Requirements
- KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) or KCE Division III
- C or Credit in Biology or Biological Sciences
- C or Credit in English / Kiswahili.
- C- (Minus) or Pass in Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics/Physical Sciences

- Year 3: Ksh 97, 125
2. Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (In-service) by Distance Learning (KRCHN)
Period of study: 2 years, Distance learning ( part-time)
Minimum Admission Requirements
- Must be an Enrolled Community Health Nurse (KECI-IN) NCK Registration Certificate
- Division III / D+
- Valid practising license
- Recommendation letter from employer/ supervisor if employed
