This article focuses on Orient Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. Orient Sacco was registered on 21st January 1997 under the name Thika District Teachers Sacco. It started its operations in April 1997 with a membership of 598.
Under the Co-operative Societies Act and the Co-operative Societies rules, cap 490, with the sanctions of a special resolution by the management board, the society changed its name from Thika District Teachers Sacco to Orient Sacco Society Limited on 11th January 2013.
Orient Sacco Membership Eligibility
The Sacco’s membership is open to any Kenyan individual or group.
Orient Sacco Membership Requirements
- Download and fill the membership application form from the Sacco’s website.
- Attach your passport size photo and copy of ID.
- Copy of KRA PIN certificate.
- Registration fee of Kshs 500.
- There is no minimum monthly contribution. Your saving and investment goal should be your motivation.
- After filling the membership form, scan the documents and send them to info@orientsacco.co.ke.
- Once the registration has been done, you will receive an SMS notification with your member number.

- The facility is available for members who wish to make payments to third parties.
- The member can cheque at the facility instead of carrying physical cash.
