Parklands Sports Club, established in 1906, is one of the biggest sports clubs in the country and holds the title of being the largest family sports club in East and Central Africa. The club is situated along Ojijo Road, Parklands, approximately two kilometres from Nairobi Central Business District. Parklands Sports Club occupies about 22 acres of prime land and currently has a membership of about 4,000 main members excluding dependents.

Parklands Sports Club is home to diverse recreational and sporting activities. The club features extensive facilities, including a 500m walking and rubber track, football and cricket fields, squash and tennis courts, a hockey pitch, and more.
It also has a large gymnasium offering various fitness classes, a dedicated area for children’s activities, a well-maintained swimming pool, and a range of massage services.

Parklands Sports Club Membership Requirements and Fees
Membership Categories
Parklands Sports Club offers various membership categories:
- Full Member: A Full Member must be 25 years and above, elected through a ballot by the main committee. Introduction by an existing member is a prerequisite.
- Nominated Member: A Nominated Member is the spouse of a Full Member, nominated by the Full Member. They can use club facilities but cannot attend or vote at General Meetings. The widow or widower of a deceased Full Member may be elected without a ballot.
- Overseas Member: An Overseas Member is an existing member relocating from Kenya to another country. Requires written approval from the Main Committee and is entitled to a 50% reduction in Quarterly subscriptions with approval.
- Junior Member: A Junior Member is the child of a Full Member aged 21 to 25 years. They are elected, pay a subscribed fee, and graduate to Full Members at 25 with an upgrade fee.
- Life Member: A Life Member is a Full Member for at least 35 years, aged 70 or above. Elected by the Main Committee based on Balloting Committee recommendation. They pay a one-time life membership fee and no further subscriptions.
- Upcountry Member: An Upcountry Member is an existing Member changing residence within Kenya to a location 60 kilometers or more from the Nairobi City boundary. Applies to the Main Committee for election with a one-third reduction in Quarterly subscriptions.
- Temporary Member: A Temporary Member is elected by the Main Committee and maintains membership by paying monthly entrance fees.
- Honorary Life Member: An Honorary Life Member is a Full Member for at least 15 years, recognized for outstanding service. Elected by unanimous vote of the Main Committee, with no subscriptions payable.
- Reciprocating Member: A Reciprocating Member is a member of a club with a reciprocating relationship with Parklands Sports Club.
Parklands Sports Club Membership Requirements
To become a member of the club, you’ll need two full members to propose and second, fill in an application form available from the club. Submit the form along with a detailed CV, Passport/National Identity Card, and copies of your professional academic certificates.
The Balloting Committee evaluates all applications, granting admission to those meeting the club’s entry requirements. The number of new members admitted depends on available vacancies, with a first-come, first-admitted approach.
If you’re a member’s child, you must transition to junior membership at 21, continuing until the age of 25. Upon reaching 25, you can graduate to full membership, ensuring your continued engagement in the vibrant activities of the club.
