This article covers Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage entrance fees. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage, also known as the Nairobi Nursery, is a world-renowned rescue and rehabilitation centre for orphaned elephant calves. It is located inside Nairobi National Park – accessible through the KWS Central Workshop Gate on Magadi Road.
Since its establishment in 1977, The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage has provided specialist care to more than 260 orphaned elephants. The Nursery is open daily from 11 am to 12 noon. This provides an exclusive opportunity for the public to learn more about Sheldrick Trust’s conservation work and meet the orphans in care.
At the start of your visit to the orphanage, you will observe the orphaned elephants coming together for their midday milk feed. Afterwards, you will witness them having fun in the dust or indulging in a mud bath. Please note that access to the Nursery is by booking only. You are encouraged to reserve your slots early, as they have limited daily capacity.
