This article focuses on Taqwa Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. Taqwa Sacco is the 1st Shariah- compliant Sacco in Kenya. It was established in 1998 as a way of providing halal credit and investment opportunities for members.
Taqwa Sacco has 12,000+ members drawn from across East Africa and in the diaspora. It has an asset base of 1.46 billion.
Taqwa Sacco Membership Eligibility
- Membership is open to all Kenyans and non-Kenyans from across the globe, regardless of gender, race, religion or class.
- Membership is open to those who prefer ethical financial services governed by Islamic principles of No Riba/ interest.
Taqwa Sacco Membership Requirements
While membership is open, Taqwa Sacco admits only eligible individuals, groups or corporates upon fulfillment of base requirements below;
- A copy of National ID/ Alien ID/ passport or birth certificate for a minor account.
- A copy of KRA PIN certificate.
- 2 coloured passport size photographs.
- A copy of recent payslip, letter of appointment or Mpesa/ bank statement.
- Attached copies of membership application form.
- BOSA membership registration fee of Kshs 1,000 and FOSA account opening fee of Kshs 500 is required.
How to Pay Registration Fees
- Go to Mpesa.
- Select Lipa na Mpesa.
- Select Paybill.
- Enter Business Number 275233.
- Enter Account Number 23*01.
- Enter the amount (Kshs 1,500 for BOSA with FOSA or Kshs 500 for FOSA only).
- Enter your Mpesa PIN and confirm.
- You will receive a confirmation message from Safaricom on your mobile phone.
