Thailand Visa Requirements for Kenyan Citizens

It’s no secret that Thailand is one of the world’s most popular tourists destination. It’s white sand beaches and palm trees are the first images that come to mind for many, but Thailand also boasts of tropical forests, mist-covered mountains, and compelling ancient monuments.Citizens of Kenya who wish to visit Thailand are required for a visa, either traveling by air or by land border. On this post, we are going to looks at some of the requirements Kenyans need to meet before traveling to this beautiful destination.

Thailand Visa Requirements for Kenyan Citizens

1. Kenyan Passport valid at least six months longer than the expiry date of the requested visa (Not photocopy )

2. Coloured passport sized photo 4 cm x 6 cm against a white background

3.Documents supporting the purpose and the conditions of the planned visit (e.g. letter of invitation, travel itinerary, round trip ticket, hotel reservation with payment guarantee etc.)

4.Proof of funds and accommodation ( (Ksh 64,000 Baht per person and Ksh 126,000 per family)

5. Completed visa application form

6. Student ID card if a student

7.Copy of biodata page of the passport

8. Letter from the hospital in Thailand, medical history, medical certificates (Category “MT”) –  In case you are going to seek a medical treatment

For Minor Child:

1. A birth certificate (original and a copy /or a notarized copy)
2. A letter of consent from a parent who will not be traveling or from both of the parents if both are not traveling (original and a copy /or a notarized copy)

N/B – Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary

Thailand Visa Options

Visa Type Visa Options
TOURIST “TR”
  • Tourism and medical treatment purposes only, not for business or employment purposes.
  • Duration of stay for 30 or 60 days.
  • Extension allowed for another 30 days.

 

EDUCATION (Non-immigrant “ED” Visa)
  • Study visits and training sessions in Thailand.
  • Term visa of 90 days travel (single entry) and then 1-year travel to Thailand (multiple entries).

 

BUSINESS (Non-immigrant “B” Visa)
  •  Conduct business or employment by Thai company.
  •   Term visa of 90 days travel (single entry) and then 1-year travel to Thailand (multiple entries).

 

MARRIAGE (Non-immigrant “O” Visa)

 

  • Married to Thai national.
  • Income of Ksh 126,000 or bank account of Ksh 1,260,000, or combination.
  • Term visa of 90 days travel (single entry) and then 1-year travel to Thailand (multiple entries).

 

RETIREMENT (Non-immigrant “O” or “OA” Visa)

 

  • Must be 50 years or older.
  • Pension of Ksh 205,000 or 2,520,000 in Thai bank, or the combination.
  • Term visa of 90 days travel (single entry) and then 1-year travel to Thailand (multiple entries).

 

DEPENDENT/GUARDIAN “O”

 

  • Dependent or immediate family of foreigners holding non-immigrant visas.
  • Guardian or immediate family of a Thai child or student foreign child.
  • Term visa of 90 days travel (single entry) and then 1-year travel to Thailand (multiple entries).
