Things To Do At Jangwani Camp,Sagana

I have visited Jangwani Camp twice and I still plan to visit it again to experience the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the serene environment in the backdrop of the roaring waterfall.  Jangwani Camp is located just outside Sagana town, along the Nyeri-Nairobi Highway, a one hour and fourty-five minutes drive from Nairobi.

The fact that you can camp on a lush green sea of grass while facing the majestic waterfalls in front of you is just mind-blowing.

Here is what you must experience while at Jangwani Camp; Sagana.

1. Camping 

Camping at Jangwani is not like any other campsite. The unique camping experience will allow you to camp by the waterfalls on lush green grass while enjoying your time with family or friends.
After an adventurous day at Jangwani, falling asleep to the sounds of the waterfalls is a natural therapeutic experience.

2. Waterfall Plunging / Swimming 

If you love adrenaline sports, then waterfall plunging at Jangwani camp will be best for you. You can then enjoy a nice swim after the plunge just in front of the camp below the fall. You need to bring your own swimming gear and water shoes though.

3. Kayaking

Kayaking downstream of the Sagana river is a perfect way to conquer the river. Jangwani camp has the best-trained guides to help you experience the natural water slides.

4. White Water Rafting

White water rafting at the roaring waterfalls of river Sagana brings the thrill and adrenaline for a perfect and adventurous day out. Depending on the season, you would be able to visit caves, and even plunge from other waterfalls along the way. There are also natural slides downstream

5. Go For A Nature Walk

If you are going to spend a day or two at Jangwani Camp, then going for a nature walk will be worth it. Take a nature walk along the river with the help of a guide and have magnificent views of the camp from the other side of the waterfall. You can even wade through the clear waters atop the waterfall in groups for a better view while hiking.

6. Try Archery

Whether experienced or not, you can give archery a try. It is all about the more times you miss the bull’s eye, the more fun you have trying over and over again.

You can also go fishing which can be later cooked for you at the camp. Fishing is Kshs 1,000 per person for half a day. If you love mountain biking, then you can also get the chance to ride and tour around Sagana with a guide at Kshs 1,000/- per person for half a day.
