This article focuses on Trans Nation Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. Trans Nation Sacco was formerly known as Tharaka Nithi Teachers Sacco which came after the split of Meru Teachers Sacco, whose main area of operation was the larger Meru District.
The Sacco was officially registered on 28th June 1993 under registration number C/S 6826.
Over the years, Trans Nation Sacco has grown to become one of the largest deposit-taking Saccos in Kenya with an asset base of Kshs 9.70 billion.
The Sacco is SASRA compliant and currently has a membership of over 37,000 in BOSA and over 75,000 accounts in FOSA.
Trans Nation Sacco Membership Eligibility
The Sacco’s membership is open to all. Any Kenyan can join the Sacco as long as he/she meets the necessary qualifications/ requirements.
Trans Nation Sacco Membership Requirements
- A fully filled membership application form. The form can be downloaded from the Sacco’s website or obtained from any of its branches countrywide.
- Be over 18 years.
- A clear copy of National Identity Card (both sides).
- A recent colour passport size photograph.
- Entrance fee of Kshs 500.
- Contribute share capital of Kshs 10,000 as stipulated in the Sacco by-laws.
- Kshs 200 monthly contribution towards risk fund account.
- Attach a copy of the current payslip (where applicable).
- Minimum share contribution per month is Kshs 2,000 for employed members, Kshs 1,500 for business members, Kshs 500 for retired members and Kshs 1,000 for ECDE members.
Monthly shares contribution can be made through;
- Mpesa paybill number 507900.
- Employer check off.
- Sacco or bank standing order.
- Transfer through TN cash USSD *822#.
- Transfer through TN cash mobile application.
- Over the counter cash deposit.
