Ukulima Sacco Membership Eligibility & Requirements

This article focuses on Ukulima Sacco membership eligibility and requirements. From a humble beginning in 1972, Ukulima Sacco was registered as a Co-operative Savings & Credit Society and started operations under the certificate of registration number CS2026.

The Sacco has an asset base of Kshs 14.66 billion, with a membership of more than 47,000 people. It is a national Sacco with its headquarters in Nairobi and FOSA branch networks in Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, Embu, Nakuru, Kisii and Kakamega.

  • Groups/ chamas such as self help.

Ukulima Sacco Membership Requirements/ Process

(a). Individual Membership

  • Complete membership application form. It can be downloaded from the Sacco’s website.
  • Attach a copy of National ID and valid Kenyan passport.
  • Attach coloured passport size photograph.
  • Attach latest payslip (if applicable).
  • Attach a copy of KRA PIN.
  • Joining fee of Kshs 1,000.
  • Minimum monthly contribution of Kshs 2,000.

(b). Diaspora Membership

(i). Individual Diaspora Membership

  • Complete individual diaspora membership application form.
  • Attach valid Kenyan passport.
  • Attach a coloured passport size photograph.

(ii). Joint Diaspora Membership

  • Complete joint diaspora membership application form.
  • Attach valid Kenyan passport for all applicants.
  • Attach coloured passport size photograph for all applicants.

(iii). Group Diaspora Membership

  • Complete group diaspora membership form.
  • Attach minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join the Sacco.
  • Attach the group’s constitution.
  • Attach copies of valid Kenyan passport and coloured passport size photographs and authorised signatories.
  • Attach a copy of group’s registration certificate.
