Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes

  • A mean grade of C+ and above at KCSE where applicable or its equivalent OR
  • Diploma or professional qualification from recognised institutions OR
  • A KCSE certificate or equivalent and a foundational certificate or bridging course from recognised institutions OR
  • Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with a minimum of One principal and subsidiary pass OR
  • Evidence of KCSE certificate or equivalent and a portfolio for the purpose of Recognition of Prior Learning determination with respect to:
    • Workplace training of 2 years OR
    • Work experience in a relevant field of 2 years OR
    • Two short courses lasting at least 3 months each in relevant fields OR
  • Any other qualification that may be determined by Senate recognising prior learning leading to equivalent of the identified criteria, experience and skills of a learner OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

  • A bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Application Guidelines

The KUCCPS portal is open for placement of students to the Open University of Kenya. Prospective students with KCSE qualifications (i.e. with a mean grade of C+ and above) should submit their applications online through the KUCCPS Portal ( ouk.kuccps.net)

Those interested in the bachelor’s programmes and postgraduate programmes should apply through admissions.ouk.ac.ke
