This is a list of all licensed microfinance banks in Kenya. Microfinance banks are licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya to provide financial services to low-income clients, i.e. loans, savings, insurance, money transfers, and remittances. These institutions specifically target the unemployed and small entrepreneurs in society who lack access to traditional banking services.
Over the past years, microfinance banks have proved instrumental in expanding access to financial services throughout Kenya. They play a complementary role to commercial banks, as opposed to being competitors, by offering services to the population in Kenya that lacks access to commercial banks. As of 2025, there are 14 licensed microfinance banks in Kenya.
